Run Your Own Race

Run Your Own Race

You are unique, one of a kind, God’s masterpiece, you are the only one who has your set of fingerprints. Why try to be someone else?

Sometimes in the press you will hear that a copycat crime has been committed. Well, the word copycat in essence means an imitation. Now the word imitation means the action of using someone or something as a model. God designed you to be an original so why would you want to imitate another? http://www.miraclebook.net

When you were a youngster in school you no doubt played the game “Follow the Leader.” Follow the leader is a children’s game. Players first choose a leader or “head of the line” and the remaining players (the followers) all line up behind the leader. The leader then moves around, and all the players have to mimic the leader’s actions. Any players who fail to follow or mimic the leader are out of the game. When only one follower remains, that player then becomes the new leader, and the game begins anew with all players joining the line once again. – www.wikipedia.com.

When you are a child, you do childish things and when you become an adult you are to gain wisdom and stop following the leader and branch out on your own. It is time you start to run your own race. This is the time you need to stop being an imitation and start being an original. This is why God created you in the manner and fashion that he did. Now I’m not saying that if say for example acting is your calling well of course there are going to be millions of people who are actors and actresses but have your own style and bring your own twist to the camera. Learn to be the star of your own movie. http://www.miraclebook.net

Run your own race means just be you. Every time you try to duplicate someone else you are disrespecting God’s creation of making you. God is the ultimate Picasso. Michelangelo, and all the other great artists. He put all the things in you that are necessary to become what he wanted when he formed you in your mother’s womb. Let’s look at some of the ways you run your own race:

  • Stop trying to fulfill other people’s dreams for your life. One of the most prevalent examples is parents trying to get their children to do what they never accomplished. Define what “success” looks like for you. Strive to accomplish your own dreams, goals, and visions for your life.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others. You have your own set of characteristics and God was aware of them from the beginning and approved of them. Don’t look down on yourself or think less of yourself because you are not like someone you admire. What you don’t realize is that that same person has things about themselves they would love to change and wished they were someone else also. The best person to compare yourself with is who you were yesterday, or last year or 5 years ago.
  • Learn to accept the things that you cannot change or maybe I should say you shouldn’t be changing. If God wanted, you to have a breast size of HH he would have given it to you. Don’t be so quick to have breast implants and then later that causes other issues. Men don’t be so quick to do penis enlargement because of who you are with. You have no guarantee that that person will be there a year from now. Use what God gave you and be content. The Apostle Paul said in the book of Philippians chapter four, “I have learned to be content in any and every situation.
  • Work on what you can change. In the Bible Matthew Chapter 15:18-20 says, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: these are the things which defile a man.” Being prideful, having racial hatred, jealousy, etc. are things you can work on and change.

The Holy Spirit lives inside of all of us and if you will just call on him, he will guide your every step and help you remain uniquely you so you can Run Your Own Race daily.

Stop Disqualifying Yourself

Stop Disqualifying Yourself

Are you constantly playing over and over in your mind or even worst stating things like:

I am not worthy.

I am not good enough.

I am never going to accomplish that.

I am not beautiful.

I am never going to amount to anything.

I am poor and will always be that way.

I am never going to get married.

I am never going to have a business of my own.

I am never going to own a home.

I am never going to have children.

I am never going to own a brand-new car.

I am never going to accomplish my dream.

I am never going to go on a mission trip.

Wow! I don’t know about you, but I am already exhausted from all the negativity. Do you realize that those two words I Am are the most powerful words to ever be spoken? The words that you speak chart the course of your life. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” – Proverbs 18:21. http://www.miraclebook.net

Yes, there will be challenging seasons, but you don’t need to add to them by disqualifying yourself believing that you can never do great things in life. Face your fears and come out of your comfort zone and charge forward.

Start saying what God says about you:

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. – Psalm 139:14

God says that you are the apple of his eye. – Deuteronomy 32:10

You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. – Philippians 4:13

You are healed. – 1 Peter 2:24

You are not fearful. – Timothy 1:7

You are not abandoned. – Hebrews 13:5

You can have an abundant life. – John 10:10

You are chosen. – 1 Thessalonians 1:4

You are more than a conqueror. – Romans 8:37

You are victorious. – 1 Corinthians 15:57

You are beautiful. – Song of Solomon 4:7

You are blessed. – Psalm 84:4

You are God’s masterpiece. – Ephesians 2:10

Now that you have these reference points from the Bible stop disqualifying yourself and get out in life and enjoy the journey because God’s got your back and go fulfill the purpose, he has for you and live your dreams. http://www.miraclebook.net

Procrastination is the thief of time – Edward Young

Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday – Don Marquis

Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill – Christopher Parker

Procrastination meaning – to be slow or late about doing something that should be done to delay doing something until a later time because you do not want to do it, because you are lazy, etc. – https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/procrastination

Do these quotes reference you? Do these mirror your life? Well, if so, don’t feel bad. Procrastination at one time or another has hauled us all into its grip. Whether it was for a day, a week, a year, or a decade. Once we finally wake up from the comfort of delaying our lives then we realize just how much time we have lost and are trying to come up with a plan to erase all the time we wasted and execute at the rate of warp speed. In the bible in the book of Acts is a story of a man named Felix and his wife Drusilla. “And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.” – Acts 24:24-25. Now you can go to the book of Acts and read the entire chapter regarding these people. What I want you all to understand here is that Felix called for Paul to hear the word of God and get knowledge regarding Christ but then he decided to delay and send Paul away. The danger in procrastinating in life is that we feel we have control over tomorrow which none of us do. In the book of wisdom in the Bible which is the book of Proverbs it states, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” – Proverbs 27:1. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Procrastination

When we procrastinate we are actually committing sin. What do I mean by that? We are professing that we know more than God and that we know what tomorrow will be like when we don’t. Only God knows the future. We can make our plans like we do for a weekend getaway or a vacation, but anything can happen. It is very vital that when we are professing what we want or expect to happen that we include the phrase “God Willing”. My best friend’s cousin just passed away unexpectedly and for years all he talked about was all the places he intended to visit when he retired. He had the finances to travel as well as the time, but he chose to keep delaying it when he could have traveled when he had vacation time from work. Now unfortunately these are dreams and memories that he never created. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Procrastination

We all need to “Live Like We Were Dying” the famous song recorded by Tim McGraw. The Bible says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10. Satan wants us to be lazy and never work and delay everything. This is one of his tactics to prevent us from living the abundant life that Jesus died to give us. “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.” – Proverbs 13;4.
