God never promises us crystal clear water and smooth sailing everyday of our lives. If Jesus had tribulation when he was here on earth what makes you think you will be exempt from them? In the Bible there was a woman by the name of Hannah whose womb was closed up and barren. Her husband loved her dearly, but he had another wife who was very fertile and was able to have baby after baby and she mercilessly taunted Hannah because she couldn’t have children. One day Hannah was at the temple and was crying and praying to God and said that if God gave her a son, she would care for him until he was old enough and then bring him to the temple and give him back to God to use as he chose. God heard her prayer and opened her womb and a year later she gave birth to the prophet Samuel. Hannah kept her word and God blessed her with four other children. Hannah kept the faith and held on and was blessed mightily. The Rain Falls On The Just & The Unjust – Hold On

Now here in modern day there is an actor named Trevor Donovan who also had to hold on tightly to his dream. Trevor always wanted to be an actor but every time he was in front of a camera he froze up and couldn’t read his lines. He got the job of a lifetime with the soap opera “Days of our Lives” with a three-year contract but was eventually fired because he would freeze and panic when he needed to read his lines. Just when he was about to give up on acting and give up his apartment in Los Angeles his agent called him and advised him that he secured a job with the show “90210”. Ever since that time Trevor’s career has just taken off and become very fruitful.

The Bible says in the book of Proverbs the book of Wisdom, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” – Proverbs 24:10. As soon as adversity rears its ugly head most people want to scamper, run, and hide. Most of us don’t like to be outside of our comfort zone, but you will never receive all God has for you if you don’t stretch yourself. Remember what God tells us, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10. Book of Proverbs – Five Star Review & Best Seller – Donna Louis

Book of Proverbs – Five Star Review & Best Seller – Donna Louis

All authors especially Christian book authors should realize that God is their salesman. However, with that said you must be open to someone critiquing your book. As an author you have to be open to learning and growing as a writer. This can be accomplished with book reviews.

Book reviews do several things for authors. They provide greater visibility for your book. If the book review is favorable, you stand a better chance of it being located by more readers. There are some websites where authors books that have more reviews stand the chance of being shown to people who are inclined to buy books. Favorable book reviews produce more sales, and this can open doors to bigger and better things. http://www.miraclebook.net

It is very important that you acquire real reviews from real people as that will be the more honorable and virtuous way to handle business. Do your research as there are several places where you can obtain a book review.

I wrote a book titled “Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day” that was an arduous eleven-year journey, but I finally completed it and published it. Now I don’t recommend that you publish your book before you get a book review just in case it is not favorable, and you need to tweak some things, but I was blessed to send it off for a review and received a five-star review from Readers’ Favorite. I feel so humbled to have received this five-star book review which also comes with a seal to place on your book. Even with a five star review you also receive a mini critique to let you know what your strengths and weaknesses were. This is a part of the learning curve that all authors need to have. They also allow you to review the person who reviewed your book.

Book reviews can also create media buzz. I have also been blessed to have this book become a Best Seller. The best thing you can do is pray for your book. Prayer changes things. “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” – James 1:6. A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. – Proverbs 29:23

Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. – Proverbs 27:2

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life. – Proverbs 22:4

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. – 1 Peter 5:6

None of us are capable of doing anything if it was not for the grace of God. Those who go around bragging on themselves and tooting their own horn are in for a big fall. It clearly says in the Bible, “But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” – Psalm 75:7. Check out my website

There was a man in the Bible named King Hezekiah who was the King of Judah when Sennacherib who was the king of Assyria  wanted to fight Jerusalem. King Hezekiah was a godly man and informed his army of men before the fight “Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him.” – 2 Chronicles 32:7. King Hezekiah was a sickly man at the time, and he prayed to God to heal him, and God did. He also gave him the victory over Sennacherib the King of Assyria but instead of giving God the glory he became prideful thinking he was the reason for the victory. Due to this God placed wrath upon Hezekiah and the people of Judah in Jerusalem and then quickly Hezekiah humbled himself and God spared his life and the people of Judah. Humility is always the way to go as it will bless your life and open many doors for you. Check out my website

This is the way that John the Baptist was. John went about baptizing many people, but he said one of the most humble words a person could ever say when he stated, “Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.” – John 3:28-30. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Pride vs Humility

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” – James 4:10. Practice humility as Jesus did because with all of the miracles, he did he could have been a very prideful person but instead he was very humble in all things including washing the disciples feet. Practice humility as it will bless and elevate your life. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Pride vs Humility
