Christian Books – Donna Louis – Bestow Love. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. – John 13:34-35. This is the word of GOD so who are we to be hating people? When does the hatred and killing stop? What can we learn from Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. (November 13, 1929 – March 19, 2014) was an American pastor who headed the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), an independent church based in Topeka, Kansas. Phelps attained notoriety primarily from his vehemently anti-gay activism and his picketing of funerals of homosexuals and soldiers. – http://www.wickipedia.com. They planned to picket           ,.deceased actor Robin Williams funeral as well as deceased boxer Muhammad Ali. They have also protested the funerals of military service members, Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson and the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut. Phelps died in 2014, after being in very poor health. How hatred affects the body – One 5 minute episode of anger is so stressful that it can impair your immune system for more than 6 hours!

I was watching a baseball game the other day on TV and one of the broadcasters said the word equanimity. I was curious because I have never heard words like that from sports people so I looked it up. The word itself sounds very strong but I was delightfully surprised at its meaning. Equanimity – mental calmness, composure and evenness of temper especially in a difficult situation. This was what was displayed by the people of Orlando FL in the wake of the senseless hateful killings in regards to Pulse Night Club. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Bestow Love

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty. – Mahatma Gandhi

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive. – Dalai Lama

Live is to be lived, not controlled, and humanity is won by continuing to play in face of certain defeat. – Ralph Ellison

GOD our heavenly father stated to us many times that we are to love one another, not to kill each other, and that none of us is perfect or without sin:

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. – Psalm 14:3

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. – John 8:1-7

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: – Romans 3:10

Thou shalt not kill. – Exodus 20:13

Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:

– I shall not fear anyone on Earth.
– I shall fear only God.
– I shall not bear ill will toward anyone.
– I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.
– I shall conquer untruth by truth. And in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

In England a gentleman is a man of breeding descended from royalty. Only gentlemen were allowed to play the 1st golf courses.

September 2014, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in Scotland, at the very heart of the game since 1754, decided to allow women to join the club for the first time in its 260-year history. More than 85% of its 2,400 members voted for its change. Golfers Annika Sorenstam and Laura Davis became its first female members. Christian Books – Donna Louis – A Gentleman’s Game. Golf has a strange fascination all its own. It is not easy. It is a humbling game, as well as challenging. The object of golf is to get a ball in a hole in as few strokes as possible. Golf is a game of control, not power. In the game of golf, you need to hit long and short shots, high and low shots, as well as straight shots & crooked shots. A golf course is not flat and does not have a uniform size like a tennis court or a football ground. Christian Books – Donna Louis – A Gentleman’s Game. http://www.standrews.com

In the Old Testament, the children of Israel had the same opportunity as the object of golf but failed miserably for 40 years. And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burnt among them and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched. And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. – Numbers 11:1-2 & 4-6. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. – Numbers 13:1-2. So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Numbers 13:21 & 27 & 32-33. And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not. But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. – Numbers 14:1-2 & 6-10 & 11-12. If the children of Israel had just followed the object of golf to get the ball in the hole with as few strokes as possible then they wouldn’t have spent 40 years in the wilderness. They just needed to stop complaining, follow Moses directions, and believe. God had already performed the great miracle of parting The Red Sea for them to pass through. Live each day like the game of golf in regards to God. Strive to do as God directs you so you can obtain success, and please God in as few strokes as possible. Christian books – Donna Louis – A Gentleman’s Game.
