Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace

Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace – For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

What does the word peace mean? The dictionary definition states a state of tranquility or quiet. Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace.

We should strive for peace in all situations, such as:  WarThen Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. – Matthew 26:52. LoveCharity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. – 1 Corinthians 4-8. Enemies – “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. – Luke 6:27-31. Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace. Check out my website

So what can we do on a daily spiritual basis to instill peace? Let’s look at an acronym for peace and start there. Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace.

P = Profess – Everyone of us has had a godly experience of some sort that we know human flesh was incapable of making that situation even happen or happen as swiftly as it did. In my situation, it was to quit smoking instantly after 20 years of smoking every day with no patches, smokeless cigarettes, or anything at all. Now that was a miracle and I’ve never gone back. Whatever your experience is profess it to the world what God has done for you.

E = Educate – Talk and teach others about how wonderful it is to be a child of God. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16.  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? – Romans 8:32

A = Appreciate –  We all need to show gratitude to God for all that he has done for us on a daily basis. We have all heard the phrase ” the little things mean so much”, well that is true. Be grateful for things you never think about. Are you able to walk, talk, drive, see, hear, go to the bathroom by yourself without the assistance of a wheelchair or human being? If so then you are already out of the starting gate doing well and we all know how that turned out for “Justify” (the racing world’s latest triple crown winner).

C = Charity – In our world nowadays there are multitudes of companies asking for charity. However, you have to be selective and careful as to who you choose to help but you are required by God to assist. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. – Matthew 26:11. A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. – Psalms 112: 5-9

E = Empathy – We have all also heard the phrase “walk a mile in my shoes” but, would we really want to in some circumstances. There is a reason why God gave us two ears and one mouth so we can listen and share other people’s feelings, experiences, and emotions. “Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.” – Jack Handey. Book of Proverbs – Proverbs For The Modern Day – Peace.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Waltzing with God

The Waltz is a smooth progressive dance characterized by long, flowing, movements, continuous turns, and rise and fall. The waltz is graceful and elegant.

Romantic Waltz is one of the most popular ballroom dances of all time. Considered by some as the “mother of present-day dances” and the “backbone dance” of the ballroom. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Waltzing with God.

There are many different versions of the waltz such as the Viennese, Scandinavian, Peruvian, Country Western, and many others. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Waltzing with God. Check out my website

“The most interesting, the most inventive, the most elegant dancers of our times.” “A genius…a classical dancer like I never saw in my life.” “Her ability to combine dancing skills, natural beauty, and exceptional abilities as a dramatic actress and comedienne truly complimented him.”

The above three statements refer to the greatest dance duo ever Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers. They were like poetry in motion. Of the ten films they did together the waltz scene in “Swing Time”, to the musical tune “Waltz in Swing Time” was breathtaking!

Every day from the moment you give your life to Christ is like a waltz. Little by little God starts to change you into his likeness just the same as the smooth progression the waltz is characterized by. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ – Philippians 1:6.

As we are growing in Christ, we also face continuous turns and times when we are abased, and when we are abounding just like the rise and fall movements in a waltz. Nevertheless, I am continually with thee:  thou has holden me by my right hand- Psalm 73:23.

The Waltz is synonymous with beauty and grace. Enjoy each day of your life with God just like a waltz, where you cannot help feeling swept back to an era where romance ruled the world and moved the heavens.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Roller Coasters

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Roller Coasters. I live in one of the top ten travel destination states in the United States. The Sunshine State of Florida. There is a host of various attributes it has such as:  great beaches, world-class hotels, world-renowned restaurants, Disney World, Kennedy Space Center, spring training baseball as well as regular-season baseball which is one of my passions but that’s a subject for another time. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Roller Coasters. Check out my website

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Roller Coasters. There is also Universal Studios in Orlando FL which houses the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, The Incredible Hulk, and the Kid-sized Woody Woodpecker roller coasters.

Roller Coasters have become one of the mandatory rides for the thrill-seekers whenever they visit amusement parks. They have become an engineering marvel, and have been constructed to be taller, faster, and wilder than ever. They say that the language of love is French so for thrill-seekers it is called “amateurs de sensations fortes”.

Why is it though we climb into the roller coaster giddy, sweaty, pumped with adrenaline and faith that the ride will be awesome! We never have wavering faith that our feet will never land safely on solid ground within 3 1/2 to 4 minutes after the inception of the ride. So if we are so confident and stable and grounded in our faith in a man-made steel object why is our faith so flimsy in our creator?

In Genesis 1:1 it says, “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth”. In Genesis 1:26 it states, “And GOD said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness”.

So I have a question for you to ponder if GOD created man and endowed him with powerful knowledge to create roller coasters shouldn’t we have the strongest unfailing faith in GOD.

Book of Proverbs – The Pursuit of Perfection

The definition of perfection states – the act of making something perfect or better. The act of perfecting something.

The last image is a quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupery who was a French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator. Prior to World War II Saint-Exupery had achieved fame in France as an aviator. In 1929, his first book, Courrier Sud was published. In 1931 with the publication of his novel Vol de Nuit that established Saint-Exupery as a rising star in the literary world. – http://www.wikipedia.com –  Book of Proverbs – The Pursuit of Perfection. The Dream of Perfection/Autopsy on a Dream is the dramatic story on film of the second image the Sydney Opera House. The film is the culminating in Jorn Oberg Utzon’s the architects departure from the project. In 1957 when he was just 38, he won a competition to design the Sydney Opera House as his submission beat out over 233 other submissions from 32 countries. – http://www.wikipedia.com – Book of Proverbs – The Pursuit of Perfection.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. – Matthew 5:48 Are we meant to be perfect? What is God saying to us? Book of Proverbs – The Pursuit of Perfection.

Noah, Seth, and Job according to their knowledge were faithful. We as disciples are faithful according to the knowledge we possess as long as we are devoted to applying the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, we have to realize that we are unable to do this without the grace of God. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. – Titus 2:11-12

Do not feel disheartened if from time to time we fall short of perfection, remember what St. Paul said, “For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.” – Romans 7:15. So what should we do? Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. – Psalm 138:8

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune the beloved TV game has been a fixture on TV for over 30 years. The excitement of spinning the wheel and seeing what type of prizes, vacations, cars, money you can win, or possibly hit bankruptcy has engaged people for a long time.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Wheel of Fortune. Certain letters have become the standard in the bonus round those being RSTLNE. So let’s take a look at our puzzle below.

_ _ _ _ L   _ _  _ _ RT _ N _

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Wheel of Fortune. Once we fill in the standard letters we could be stumped but if we take each group of words and talk it out we will come up with the phrase Wheel of Fortune. The last group of letters being the giveaway. So let’s take this puzzle and break it down on a spiritual level, and see what type of prizes and fortune are available to us every day.

W = Wisdom – King Solomon was the son of King David and God considered him to be the wisest man on earth. He was not only the most knowledgeable man to have ever existed he was also extremely rich, very renowned, and one of Israel’s greatest rulers. You can read the story of Solomon and his reign as king starting in the Old Testament 1 Kings Chapter 1. If we pray for wisdom God will provide this blessing to us.

H = Happy – Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy. James 5:11. If you have heard and read the book of Job you know of all his trials but, you also know in the end God restored all he had lost and blessed him tremendously. So we should always try to be in a state of happiness as this will bring blessings.

E = Enter – Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4. We should always enter into our daily prayer life with praise and thanksgiving for all God has done for us.

E = Evil – See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 1 Thessalonians 5:15. According to the bible, we are not to bestow evil on anyone who has done so to us. If we want to live a good life we cannot render evil for evil.

L = Love – And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5. This is the first and most holiest of all things. It is also phrased a little differently in the book of Exodus chapter 20 verse 3, “Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.” If we want to live the good life and prosper this is the first thing we need to acknowledge & obey.

O = Obey – A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day. Deuteronomy 11:27. It clearly states you will receive a blessing if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God. Enough said I don’t think this needs further breakdown.

F = Faith – Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Matthew 6:30. We all have our times of testing and trials but, we cannot allow our faith to falter.

F = Forgive – Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:  condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned, forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. Luke 6:37. We all at one time or another have done something to offend or hurt someone. If we want to receive forgiveness we need to bestow forgiveness.

O = Own – What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19. We all think that we possess everything we have but we don’t. When we leave this earth we cannot take anything with us. It doesn’t matter what type of arrangements you make with your funeral director he isn’t going to place any or all of the money you have in your casket with you! Our bodies are not our own and when we die we will have to give an account for all of the destructive things we did to it.

R = Rule – He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. Proverbs 25:28. We cannot allow our desires to rule us, we need to learn how to contain ourselves and live in a godly fashion.

T = Trust – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. Proverbs 3:5-6. I spoke about this in one of my previous blogs “Roller Coasters”. We have to learn to trust our heavenly father above all else because he created us and knows what’s best for us.

U = Understanding – So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to understanding. Proverbs 2:2. For the Lord giveth wisdom:  out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6. The word understanding appears in the bible (KJV) 160 times. That alone tells us that this word and it’s meaning is something God wants us to get down deep in our spirits to live a favorable life. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Wheel of Fortune.

N = Name – A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth. Ecclesiastes 7:1. To have a good name we have to live a good life. Treat others in the way we wish to be treated, give of ourselves, our money, and our time. We have been blessed to have many examples of persons like this:  Mother Teresa, Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, and many more.

E = Endure – For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life:  weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalms 30:5. One of the main components for a runner involved in a race is endurance. We have to have that same endurance when under trials and tribulations in our earthly life so we can win the race in a godly fashion.

We all can create our own Wheel of Fortune if we just follow biblical principals and enjoy the life that God has given us. Christian books – Donna Louis – Wheel of Fortune

Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb

Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb.

Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb – And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. – Genesis 22:7-8 & Genesis 11-13.

The above verses in the Bible deal with Abraham being tempted by God to see how faithful he was, and if he would indeed kill his only son Isaac. Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb. Check out my website

Lambs like many other animals are slaughtered on a daily basis and eventually end up on the dinner table. However; a while ago a lucky lamb born in Wales a country in southwest Great Britain was saved. Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb.

Jake, as he has been named was born with an extra leg. Despite the rare deformity Jake is running and jumping on all five legs. Jake was born on a family-run farm and was scheduled to be fattened up and then killed for meat.

After his birth, vets were summoned out to the farm to check on Jake’s health and were amazed at how healthy he is. According to the family, they didn’t expect him to live because they tend to die if they have a deformity. Jake, however, has been spared, and according to the family, they will keep him as a mascot.

Miracles are happening every day all around us and, God is continually showing why he is all-mighty, all-powerful, and omnipotent. Book of Proverbs – The Miracle Limb.
