Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck.

It’s that time of the year again. A start to a new season.

The puck glides across the glistening ice that the Zambonis just resurfaced, the players race across the ice with lightning speed trying to blow the puck pass their opponents goaltender into the net, and of course the ice version of the WWE wrestling with all the fights that break out. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck.

Canada holds the torch for hockey enthusiast because hockey is like a religion for them. In Canada there is one season that runs all year round and that is the fifth season – Hockey season. However, never count the United States out because our arenas are just as full of hockey lovers. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck.

What is it about hockey and religion? Religion and Goalie are built on trust, passion, doing the right thing at any costs. That is what we are supposed to do as followers of Christ. We are to trust him completely with our lives because as we all know God’s ways as not our ways and he sits high and looks low and knows all things. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. – Isaiah 12:2

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. – John 14:21

The goalie is the man who bails out all the other players mistakes. Goalies are often looked to for leadership. Do those last two statements sound familiar? Of course, they do! God is the one who bails us out of all our mistakes when we don’t use wisdom and when we don’t ask his opinion before we do something. The holy spirit dwells inside of all of us so we don’t have that far to go when we ask. The same way that goalies are looked to for leadership from their team mates we are supposed to look to God for that same advice, wisdom, and leadership. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Drop The Puck.

So why not drop the puck and keep your religion and goalie (GOD) daily all year round not just when hockey season starts? Gotta go now, my team is on a power play.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

What does it mean to be abase? According to the dictionary it means to lower in rank, office, prestige, or esteem. http://www.merriam-webster.com.

What does it mean to be abounding? According to the dictionary it means existing in or providing a great or plentiful quantity or supply. http://www.merriam-webster.com.

We all in life at one time or another will have highs and lows. Truthfully, we should be expecting it because it will befall all of us. – Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

The only perfect man to walk this earth was Jesus and he had his share of highs and lows. Some examples of the high points in Jesus life was when he changed the water to wine and when he raised Lazarus from the dead. These were the abounding times in his life. The low points or abase times was when he was being tempted by Satan in the wilderness for forty days and when he had to suffer crucifixion and death on the cross. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

In all the abase times in Jesus life he never sinned. The bible says, “for we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15. Also the bible states for he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”– 2 Corinthians 5:21.

When everything is going smoothly in our lives and we don’t have a care in the world those are the times we should be aware and on guard and keep doing the godly things. The bible says, “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8. When things are great we become complacent and stop doing the right and proper things we should be doing. We stop praying unceasingly and don’t go to church regularly because we say to ourselves we are too busy. This is where we begin to sin because we are moving away from the intimate relationship we are to have with Jesus. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

When we reach the low times in our lives and are abase this is when we know Jesus the most. We pray to God daily sometimes even on an hourly basis. We dust off our bible and begin to read every day unceasingly. We prepare our clothes for church days before because we are desperate to have the pastor pray all our troubles away.

What happens when we do all of these things and nothing has changed? These are the times that we need to remember that nothing lasts forever including trouble. This is when we must remember the words of Paul, “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” – Philippians 4:12

We all pray and say. “I want to be just like Jesus” however, when God starts to test us and put us on the potter’s wheel to refine us we all start screaming and crying “no stop, take me off.” God hears us but continues his work until he has removed what was impure and refined us. “Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.”– Isaiah 48:10.

Everyone would love to have short testing, molding, and refining times but that is not how God works. The bible states, “to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”– Ephesians 3:1-8.

The verse that I really want you all to see is this one “a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” I am not a farmer, I am a city girl but even I know the principals of planting and harvest. You must plant the seeds and then wait for a harvest. In between there is watering and pruning. This takes me back to what I said earlier when we are in our low times and are abase this is when we become complacent. The watering is the reading of the word and praying unceasingly. The pruning is what God is doing to us. He is cutting back things in us that are unfruitful and shaping us for a more fruitful growth. These are the times when we feel pain, when we cry, when we don’t see where the light at the end of the tunnel is. We have all been there and if you are a person that is a type A personality like myself you want the uncomfortableness to go away quickly. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

God works in his own timing not ours and if you want to become more like Jesus then you need to start adopting what the apostle Paul said, “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” – Philippians 4:12. The sooner we do the faster we will pass the test, be refined and molded as God wants us and he will give us beauty for ashes. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Abase and Abounding.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised

Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

Surprised – feeling or showing surprise because of something unexpected. http://www.merriam-webster.com

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. – 1 John 3:20

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen. – Acts 1:24

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. – Proverbs 15:3

God will always surprise us, but you can’t surprise God. Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. – Matthew 10:30

Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

God is not surprised about where you are right now. If things are bad he is not taken off guard. He is not shocked about what has happened to you.

God knows each and every situation we come into better than we can ever understand it.

God wasn’t surprised when Peter cut off a man’s ear. He wasn’t when Jonah was swallowed by whale. When Noah had to build an ark. He wasn’t when Adam and Eve bit into the fruit.

We all give ourselves much more credit that we should. We think we know exactly how our lives should progress and end up. We make our plans but don’t realize that God’s thought are higher than ours. He has placed a gift (or gifts) inside of us and knows exactly what our purpose in life is. Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. – Romans 12:6-8.

We all love to follow that iconic Frank Sinatra song “I did it My Way”. God knows what he has placed inside of all of us and what our true potential and what heights we can achieve. Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

I watched a movie last night called “The Right Girl”, It is a Hallmark Movie. I love Hallmark movies. The essence of the movie had to do with a young woman who lost her father and started down a selfish, obnoxious path with her dealings with people since she was wealthy. Her mother arranged with their attorney to notify her that both the mother and her had lost all of their money reckless spending and bad investments and would have to find a way to survive. She had to get a job which she never had and actually wound up working two jobs at one point. She had to share an apartment with her mother, use a loaner car from a friend which was a far cry from the corvette she was driving in the beginning of the movie. She eventually humbled herself and became a giving, caring, considerate, loving person which is the person her mother knew was inside of her. Eventually her mother told her the truth and notified her that all her money was there and placed it all back in her bank accounts. She actually thanked her mother for doing what she did because that changed her life. Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. – Psalms 73:14

The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. – Psalms 118:18

God knows exactly what has happened and is happening in your life. He has allowed certain things to happen so he can mold and shape you into the dynamic person he has designed you to be. Christian Books – Donna Louis – God Is Never Surprised.

Have Faith, Trust GOD, and humble yourself and realize that GOD is omnipotent and GOD is never surprised.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful

be merciful 2be mercifulpope francis and mercy 2Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. – Luke 6:36. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE MERCIFUL? Treating people with kindness and forgiveness: not cruel or harsh : having or showing mercy. http://www.merriman-webster.com

Jesus instructed us to be merciful. Even though this was not a part of the Ten Commandments we are to obey. What happens when you don’t obey, you wind up like the children of Israel did wandering through the wilderness for forty years before some of them reached the promise land. Don’t believe me let’s look at some daily life examples:

Almost every time you are running late you get stuck in traffic. “Why does this always happen to me? I’m late. I don’t have time for this!

Almost every time you go shopping at the supermarket you get stuck in the line with a person with plenty of coupons, get a cashier that has to close their register just as you approach them etc. Doesn’t this person realize they should shop at another time when they have all these coupons so they don’t hold up the line? Doesn’t management realize this time of day is prime time for shoppers and people have to go home and make dinner?

You go to gas up your car and there is only one open pump and when you pull up it is un-operational and has a plastic bag hanging over the pump. This gas station makes plenty of money either fix your equipment or have more frequent deliveries of fuel.

You’re looking for a parking space at a mall and you have been going up and down the aisles looking for a while and as soon as you see one you hit the gas and just as you are about to pull into the space someone comes from the other direction and beats you to it. Are you kidding me? Where did they come from? I should go and give them a piece of my mind!

Any of these sound familiar? Of course they do and they happen to some people more than others. Why? GOD has an amazing sense of humor. Until you do as he expects you to he will keep giving you the same trial over and over again until you handle it in the proper fashion. Getting upset and fuming and complaining is only going to bring more of the same. Let’s look at the previous four examples and see if there is another approach to them.

Almost every time you are running late you get stuck in traffic. I need to learn to leave earlier so I’m not running late. I hope everybody is alright. Thank GOD I was not a part of this accident. Well I realize that construction is happening everywhere so since I can’t make it disappear let me just settle in and wait. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

Almost every time you go shopping at the supermarket you get stuck in the line with a person with plenty of coupons, get a cashier that has to close their register just as you approach them etc. It is possible that this person is a single parent and works two jobs and can only shop at this time. They have several coupons because their income has to stretch to cover everything. The cashier is not feeling well and is leaving work early. The cashier has received an emergency call and has to leave work early. The store has made budget cuts and so they are under staffed. At least they are still in existence so I can shop close to home. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

You go to gas up your car and there is only one open pump and when you pull up it is un-operational and has a plastic bag hanging over the pump. I have warning lights in my car to let me know when the gas level is getting low. I need to start getting gas when the car is ¼ tank instead of when the fuel light comes on. It is possible the tanker to deliver the gas has been delayed in another state. Who knows maybe traffic, construction, accident????????? The previous person ahead of me just drained the last bit of fuel for this pump and grade of fuel. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

You’re looking for a parking space and you have been going up and down the aisles looking for a while and as soon as you see one you hit the gas and just as you are about to pull into the space someone comes from the other direction and beats you to it. The person is an employee of one of the stores and is about to be late for work. The person has a bladder problem and needs to get to a lavatory ASAP. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

You see how you can have a totally different attitude about things and be merciful!

Pope Francis has declared that from December 8, 2015 to November 20, 2016 is the year of mercy.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. – James 2:13

Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. – Matthew 5:7

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; – Colossians 3:12

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye. – Colossians 3:13

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us. – Ephesians 2:4

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. – Titus 3:5

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. – Micah 7:18

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. – Matthew 6:14

“The way to forget our miseries, is to remember the God of our mercies.” – Matthew Henry

“I believe in goodness, mercy and charity. I believe in casting bread upon the waters.” – Leonard Nimoy

“God seeth different abilities and frailties of men, which may move His goodness to be merciful to their different improvements in virtue.” – William Law

You want to enrich your life…be merciful to family, friends, strangers and all mankind as Jesus commanded and see how your life starts to take flight like an eagle! Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Merciful.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope In God

god-gives-hopeNow the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. – Romans 15:13. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God.

The word hope means:  to cherish a desire with anticipation; to expect with confidence. – www.merriam-webster.com. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God.

Once we have no hope we might as well be dead! Hope allows us to dream about what could happen or what could be true.

Hope is the word which GOD has written on the brow of everyman. – Victor Hugo (Victor Marie Hugo was a French poet, novelist, and dramatist of the Romantic movement. He is considered one of the greatest and best-known French writers). www.wickipedia.com. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God

We are rapidly approaching one of the biggest holidays of the year:  Memorial Day. Countless people will be saying this very phrase:  “I hope the weather is going to be good on Memorial Day because I intend to barbeque.” Hope is built in us but, it is up to us whether we choose to ignite the flame. “Without GOD there is for mankind no purpose, no goal, no hope, only a wavering future, an eternal dread of everyday darkness.” – Jean Paul (Jean Paul born Johann Paul Friedrich Richter, was a German Romantic writer, best known for his humorous novels and stories). – www.wickipedia.com. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God

“A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood”. Rachel Carson (Rachel Louise Carson was an American marine biologist and conservationist whose book Silent Spring and other writings are credited with advancing the global environmental movement). – www.wickipedia.com. We all know the story of Cinderella, a girl, a shoe, and a prince. Cinderella lived an unhappy life as a young girl. Her mother was dead and her father had married a widow with two daughters. Her step-mother didn’t like her one bit and so she made her life miserable. Cinderella was forced to live in poverty while those around her enjoyed the good life especially her step-sisters. The story of Cinderella teaches us to enjoy simple pleasures, about endurance, and about the importance of maintaining an optimistic attitude and holding onto hope. As adults we need to become more childlike and Visualize a tomorrow with endless possibilities. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God

HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!

H = Healthy

O = Outlook

P = Positive

E = Energy

This is what we need to have on a daily basis. A healthy outlook with positive energy about our futures.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”. – Socrates (Socrates was a classical Greek philosopher credited as one of the founders of Western philosophy). www.wickipedia.com

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration”. – Nikola Tesa (Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.). – www.wickipedia.com

“Energy and Persistence conquer all thing”. – Ben Franklin (Benjamin Franklin was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. A renowned polymath, Franklin was a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat). www.wickipedia.com

“The energy of the mind is the essence of life”. – Aristotle (Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist born in the city of Stagira, Chalkidice, on the northern periphery of Classical Greece). – www.wickipedia.com

The word HOPE is listed in the bible many times:

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; – Romans 12:12

By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. – Romans 5:2

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee. – Psalm 39:7

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity. – 1 Corinthians 13:13

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? – Romans 8:24

The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. – Proverbs 10:28

But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]. – Romans 8:25

Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. – Jeremiah 17:7

But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. – Psalm 71:14

So why should we have Hope in God? Having anything else can be destructive to us. ANGER weakens the liver. GRIEF weakens the lungs. WORRY weakens the stomach. STRESS weakens the heart and brain. FEAR fails the kidneys. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Hope in God

Godly character produces an increasing measure of expectation of what the Lord will do in and through and with us. Hope boosts our sense of worth, confidence and optimism.

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us. And the world will live as one.”

Christian Books – Donna Louis – The Goodness of GOD

Goodness-of-God-Why-is-it-hard-to-believe-God-is-Good-Symphony-of-Heaven

Christian Books – Donna Louis – The Goodness of God

The goodness of God is not only an attribute of God but a foundational truth every Christian should embrace and one that is found in most Christian books.

“no person can be his own savior…An individual must come before God in penitence, confess his sin and obtain pardon from a merciful God who repudiates sin but shows covenant love to the sinner.” – R. K. Harrison ( was an Old testament Scholar).

Goodness is the state or quality of being good, moral excellence; virtue, kindly feeling; kindness; generosity, excellence of quality, the best part of anything; essence; strength. – http://www.dictionary.com

Instead of a river, God often gives us a brook, which may be running today and dried up tomorrow. Why? To teach us not to rest in our blessings, but in the blesser Himself. – Arthur Pink ( was an English bible teacher who sparked a renewed interest in the exposition of Calvinism. This is a major branch of Protestantism that follows the theological tradition and forms of Christian practice of John Calvin and other reformation – era theologians. Pink became one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century).

There isn’t a single person reading this blog now who hasn’t experienced outrageous, lavish, unexpected, undeserved kindness. What is more, we experience these serendipities every single day. They are poured out over us constantly. I know I have. At one time or another most of us have been driving and look in our rear view mirror and see those blue flashing lights. Our hearts start to palpitate and we know what we’re in for. That happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago. I was running late and needed to make time and the police officer pulled me over. You know the regular routine:  license and registration. I had just been to the bank the previous day and needed to present my license for a withdrawal and forgot to put it back in my wallet. That made the stop with the officer even longer because now I had to provide my DOB and have him check for tickets, warrants, etc. Eventually he returned to my car and gave me a monologue about all the tickets he could have given me doing 65 in a 45 zone, no license etc. instead he gave me a warning and let me go.  That is an example of the goodness of God. Miracles, Hope, and Proof of the Existence of GOD.

Now, you may not have a story like mine but everyday we all receive goodness from God. You may have noticed a sale at your local supermarket, pharmacy, clothing or shoe store and then life got in the way and you didn’t make it there within the dates. You stop by anyway and notice that the sale signs are still listed and the store personnel states they will give you the items at the sales price anyway because it was their error that the signs weren’t removed. That is an example of the goodness of God. Miracles, Hope, and Proof of the Existence of GOD.

Your friend has a big birthday party the night before you have a doctor’s apt and you forgot about the appointment and stay out late eating past the bewitching hour. Once you return home you check your date planner or refrigerator and see the scheduled appointment. You are going for your second A1C testing and have been advised if the numbers don’t add up you will need to go on medication. Now you can’t sleep and you’re worried what the test results will be. You go to the doctor’s and do your testing and now you wait for the results. After a few days you are told everything looks fine. WOW! Relief sweeps over you because you know that all your proper eating and managing yourself did not go to waste in one night. That is an example of the goodness of God. Miracles, Hope, and Proof of the Existence of GOD.

GOD is goodness and it’s listed in his word in the bible:

Psalms 23:6 – Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalms 31:19 – [Oh] how great [is] thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; [which] thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Galatians 5:22 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Psalms 27:13 – [I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Psalms 65:4 – Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee, that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple.

Psalms 25:7 – Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

The goodness of God is everywhere everyday. Take some time and reflect on your life and once the smile comes across your face you will have your own testimony of God’s goodness.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Someone’s Miracle.

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. – Galatians 6:2

What is a miracle? It’s getting past yourself and giving back to the world. – Ryan C. Lowe (Positive Attitude Coach). We are all looking for a miracle in some form or fashion. Once we receive it then life throws us another curve ball and then we are in hot pursuit of another miracle. Jesus performed countless miracles in the bible but it was contingent on doing something first. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Someone’s Miracle. The Wedding in Cana:  John 2:1-11 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. So what was done for the miracle to happen? And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. Man born Blind Healed:  John 9:1-7 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. So what was done for the miracle to happen? And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. Tax/Tribute Money:  Matthew 17:24-27 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. So what was done for the miracle to happen? Go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. There is a recent story on the internet about a woman named Caroline Boudreaux, who had all the material things she wanted living in Austin TX, but was dissatisfied with her life. She took a year off from work to travel the world and came across an orphanage in rural India. There was not enough food for the children there to eat and poor living conditions. She was so moved by what she saw that she created an organization called The Miracle Foundation. They have now been in existence for over 16 years and have helped over 1,700 children. Caroline is now satisfied with her life. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Be Someone’s Miracle.

I recently attended a “Night of Hope” event with Joel Osteen and was so moved by the amount of people that chose to become a part of an organization named World Vision where you can sponsor a child. There were hundreds of people in line holding their card with the picture of the child they were given to sponsor including my husband and myself. My husband jokingly said to me, it’s taken you 31 years of marriage to finally give me a son.” I can tell you it is a rewarding experience to help someone else. If you don’t believe me, here are quotes from other people:

Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others. – Booker T. Washington

I prefer death to tiredness. I am never tired of serving others. – Leonardo di Vinci

We rise by lifting others. – Robert Ingersall

It is literally true that you can succeed best and quicker by helping others to succeed. – Napolean Hill

1 John 3:17 – But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

Matthew 25:35-40 – For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

James 2:14-17 – What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Galatians 6:2 – Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

John 15:12 – This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Proverbs 22:9 – He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Matthew 5:42 – Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Romans 15:1 – We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic

SheepDayPicSheepChristian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic? My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. – John 10:27. http://www.biblegateway.com.

The dictionary definition of a sheep states:  an animal with a thick woolly coat that is often raised for meat or for its wool and skin. Then it goes on to say:  a timid defenseless creature. www.merriam-webster.com. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic?

Sheep are gentle, quiet, innocent animals. They do not give their shepard’s a lot of problems. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic?

Sheep are mentioned in the bible more than 500 times, more than any other animal. Now, there has to be a reason why GOD placed so much emphasis on sheep in the bible. GOD wants us to be like these animals that are timid and defenseless so then he can mold us to be the images he do desires. GOD wants to purify us like how a fining pot (a vessel) refines metals. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic?

Goats unlike sheep are rebellious. In the bible goats are sometimes used to symbolize evil.

God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? – Pslam 74:1

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. – Psalm 100:3

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. – Matthew 9:36

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. – Matthew 10:16

So who should we mimic, a sheep but of course! Christian Books – Donna Louis – Who Should We Mimic?

Christian Books – Donna Louis – Perseverance

Steve JobsChristian Books – Donna Louis – Perseverance! The definition of perseverance says the quality that allows someone to continue trying to do something even though it is difficult. – http://www.merriam-webster.com/

If we are to enjoy the good things in life that GOD wants for us we all must learn how to persevere. Nothing good in life comes without endurance and hard work. Does GOD really want us to enjoy the good things in life and live abundantly, you better believe he does because he says it in his word. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Perseverance. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10. However we are not to skate through life and expect to be blessed abundantly. GOD’s word has a lot to say about that also. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.  The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death. – Proverbs 12:24-28. He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster. – Proverbs 18:9. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. – Proverbs 10:2-8. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. – Proverbs 19:5.Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:  Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,  Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:  So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. – Proverbs 6:6-11. http://www.biblegateway.com. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Perseverance.

Prayer is the acid test of the inner man’s strength. A strong spirit is capable of perseverance until the answer comes. A weak one grows weary and fainthearted in the maintenance of praying. Watchman Nee. He was a church leader and Christian teacher who worked in China during the 20th century. Christian Books – Donna /Louis – Perseverance.

Our motto must continue to be perseverance and ultimately I trust the almighty will crown our efforts with success. William Wilberforce. He was an English politician, philanthropist, and a leader of the movement to abolish the slave trade. Christian Books – Donna Louis – Perseverance.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. – James 5:11

I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. – Revelation 2:2-3

Below is a collection of quotes on perseverance from people from all walks of life:  past presidents, past prime ministers, philosophers, inventors, novelists, hall of fame baseball player, wwe wrestler, famous musician, son of a hall of fame past football player and coach, physicist and chemist, a king. Genius is divine perseverance. Genius I cannot claim nor even extra brightness but perseverance all can have. Woodrow Wilson

To persevere in one’s duty and be silent, is the best answer to calumny. – George Washington

If you are going through hell, keep going. – Winston S. Churchill

It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop. – Confucius

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. – Thomas A. Edison

I am a slow walker, but I never walk back. – Abraham Lincoln

I’ve often said a man’s character is not judged after he celebrates a victory, but what he does when his back is against the wall. So no matter how great the setback, how severe the failure, you never give up. – John Cena

Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and, above all, confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained” – Marie Curie

Who is the wise man? He who sees what’s going to be born. – King Solomon

King Solomon was the wisest man in the world, and even he knew the value of perseverance.

Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration

easter-wallpaper-background-03Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration!  HE IS RISEN—EASTER SUNDAY!!!

Multiple services and the beautiful sunrise service especially designed for all of the early risers and day people.

Coloring eggs, making baskets, and the egg hunts for the young people. Elaborate Easter dinners with family and friends at your home to celebrate the day. Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration.

Easter Sunday is special because of what it represents historically, biblically, spiritually, and personally. http://www.wickipedia.com

What happens when all of the hoopla is over? When the congregations have depleted and the pews/seating in the church is back to normal? Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration.

Easter Sunday and Palm Sunday have always traditionally had churches packed. People who are normally too busy for church seem to remember Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it. If when you were a child and your parents always took you to church on these special dates you will remember this and attend. Churches make it so easy to attend with the multiple services they offer on Easter Sunday. My church for example had four services with the last one starting at 1:30pm. They also did a wonderful play depiction. Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration.

Why is it so easy to revert back to our old ways after two weeks? Why are we inclined to feel that it is fine to put GOD and church on the back burner after Easter and Palm Sunday?

If we want GOD to show up in our homes and lives regularly with blessings then we need to show up with praise and worship in his  home regularly! Christian Books – Donna Louis – After The Celebration.
